NOVEMBER 2006 ALARMS

Another minor auto accident

 

November 25th - At 16:08, Station7 was alerted to assist Mifflin County Company 26 for an auto accident at the Route 22 & 522 intersection, Wayne Township, Mifflin County.  R7 and Amb 701  responded to assist.  Units were back in service at 16:30.

Autos strike deer

 

November 24th - At 17:40, Station7 was alerted to assist Mifflin County Company 26 for a multi-vehicle accident involving deer on Route 22/522 in Wayne Township, Mifflin County.  R7, E7, Amb 701 and 702  responded to assist.  Upon arrival on scene, crews assisted with traffic control and then were released.  Units were back in service at 18:09.

Working car fire

 

November 20th - Just at the end of Essentials class, at 22:16, Station 7 was alerted for a car fire in the area of 122 West Market Street, Mount Union Borough.  E7, R7 and Amb. 702 responded.  E7 reported on scene with a working car fire.  As can be seen in the middle photo below, magnesium has a nice glow when hit with water.  Purple K agent and foam where used to extinguish the fire.  Units where back in service at 23:00.

Odor investigation

 

November 19th - At 14:45, Station7 was alerted for an odor investigation in the area of the 100 block of East Shirley Street, Mount Union Borough.  E7, Q7 and Amb 702 responded.  Nothing was found upon arrival.  Units were back in service at 15:16.

Transfer assignment

 

November 17th - At 11:35, Station 7 was requested to transfer E7 to Station 14 - Shade Gap.  14 was assisting Franklin County on the 12-01 box for a working house fire.  Unit was back in service at 15:24.

Auto accident in parking lot

 

November 16th - At 16:04, Station7 was alerted for an auto accident in the parking lot at Bonney Forge Corporation in Shirley Township.  R7, E7 and Amb. 701 responded.  Units were back in service at 16:47.

Furnace fire in a structure

 

November 13th - At 09:05, Station7 was alerted for a first alarm assignment on Box7-10 for a furnace on fire in a structure at 129 West Walnut Street, Borough of Mount Union.  This brought Companies 7, 2, 20 and MC26 to the scene and transfers of E5 and MC E18.

AC7 reported on scene with light smoke conditions.  Company 7, E2 and E26 were held to the scene and all other units were placed available.  Units were back in service at 10:05.

Every day is training day!  Members take the opportunity to fly the stick and check the flue.

Assist with controlled burn

 

November 11th - The Mount Union Fire Company assisted a local manufacturing plant with a controlled burn.  The manufacturer had a piece of machinery clog with plastic product, which had to be burnt off in order to place the machine back in service.  Engine 7 responded and was placed on stand0by while the controlled burn took place.

Minor auto accident

 

November 11th - At 02:32, Station7 was alerted to assist Mifflin County Company 26 for an auto accident at the Route 22 & 522 intersection, Wayne Township, Mifflin County.  R7, Amb 701 and 702  responded to assist.  Units were back in service at 03:15.

Vehicle fire

 

November 7th - At 15:55, Station7 was alerted for a vehicle fire on Route 522 South, Shirley Township, Huntingdon County.  E7, R7 and Amb. 701 responded.  Units were back in service at 16:57.

Tractor trailer vs. Logging truck

 

November 7th - At 05:20, Station7 was alerted to assist Mifflin County Company 26 & 18 for an auto accident on Route 522 North at the Little Green Briar Road intersection, Wayne Township, Mifflin County.  R7, Amb 701 and 702  responded to assist.  702 transported 1 patient ALS with Medic 5.

Units were back in service at 06:35.

Fuel Oil Spill

 

November 6th - At 16:10, Station7 was alerted for a fuel oil spill in a residence in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County.  E7, R7 and Amb. 701 responded.  E7 arrived on scene to find a fast active leak from a full 275 gallon heating oil tank.  Station7 was assisted on scene from Huntingdon County EMA and Eagle Hazmat.  Units were back in service at 18:30.

Car fire in Borough

 

November 5th - At 21:09, Station7 was alerted for a car fire on West Maxwell Street, Mount Union Borough.  Chief7 reported directly to the scene to find a single vehicle that had a fire in the engine compartment.  E7, R7 and Amb. 701 responded.  Units were back in service at 21:40.

November 5th - At 00:15, Station7 was alerted to assist Company 2 with a single engine for an automatic fire alarm sounding at the former Motel 22 building in Brady Township, Huntingdon County.  E7 responded to assist.  Deputy Chief 2 reported on scene and placed all units available.  Unit was back in service at 00:35.

Working camper fire in Shirleysburg

 

November 2nd - At 14:13, Station7 was alerted to assist Company 9 with a single engine for a working camper fire in Shirleysburg,  Huntingdon County.  E7 responded to assist.  E7 arrived on scene and assisted E9 crew with overhaul.  Unit was back in service at 15:00.

Auto accident Rt 22

 

November 2nd - At 00:13, Station7 was alerted to assist Company 2 and 20 for an auto accident on Route 22 in the area of Jacks Narrows in Brady Township, Huntingdon County.  R7, Amb 701 and 702 responded to assist.  E2 and Amb 701 arrived on scene and found a single vehicle with the patient refusing treatment.  Chief2 placed all other units available.  Units were back in service at 00:35.
